Mindy Monday... Red Dress in the Garden

I have quite a few things on the go for Mindy. She will have quite a collection soon. Today though, I just want to share this photo of her relaxing in the garden with her red dress. I think she looks pretty.

Lots more to post in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

  1. Hi, red suits her well. Do you know, that your Mindy made me to make travel dolls too? I have not taken photo of my two girls waiting for clothes, but I did first quick photos of dolls made for my kids. They are not dressed too, but I have idea what to do, but I have more projects. I will be glad if you have a look and give me advice of your experienced eye. http://www.flickr.com/photos/anna1603/

    2. Thanks. I have just uploaded pictures of new dress for my travel dolls and my new Molly. Is it possible to see photos of your doll and dress? I want also to make shoes, but don´t know how. I have to try.

    3. Your dolls look great... I don't think you need any advice from me. I'd love to see them when they are finished.

    4. I like your dresses, I think the red haired one is my favourite... what happened to the one with the blonde bob? She needs a dress :-)

    5. Thank you very much. The blonde bob boy Mischa is of my son. I have already made shirt and trousers and shoes, but I don´t know where my son has hidden him. I have to make a research. And I take a picture of him.

  2. Hi, love her new dress. I made one of the travel dolls too and I gave her a red dress as well before I even saw your post. I'm still making the shoes.

  5. Hello,

I'm wondering how you did the eyes on this doll. They look great.

Also, on your latest post, you say you are now designing clothes! Do you mean that you will be selling the patterns? Either way I am excited.

    1. Hello Kristin

Mindy's eyes are printed out on paper, then glued to felt, cut to the right shape and finished with a few coats of clear nail polish. I then just glued them to her face... very easy.

The eyes are a template attached to the original doll pattern I used found here.

Yes I will be making my patterns available on etsy and ravelry very soon.

  6. Thanks!

I have tried the painted eyes on felt several times and just can't get the painting right. :)

I'll watch out for your patterns. I am just finishing my second Fiona doll--and it appears that your pattern involves a shorter neck, shorter overall body length, and a bit bigger limbs? Very much looking forward to it.
