Sneak Peak at my New Knitted Doll

This knitted doll is almost ready. I've branched out into designing doll patterns as well as doll clothes patterns. I can't wait to show you what I have been doing with this new pattern... stay tuned!

And yes this pattern will be made available in the near future :-)

'Some Enchanted Evening'... part 1

I have been putting together an evening wear collection for over a year now and have lots of outfits for it... all of them requiring something small to be finished (hehe). However, this collection is becoming so large that I have decided to post outfits as I finish them instead of trying to fit the whole collection in one gigantic entry!

I'm very happy with how this sparkly blue dress turned out. Stella was very happy to model it for me...

The dress is made from a blue yarn interwoven with metallic silver to make it glittery. It has a blue/purple ruffle that matches the stole. The belt is metallic thread moss stitch with a diamante, heart shaped belt buckle. The flower in her hair is a knitted flower in metallic thread with a diamante button in the centre. The shoes are made from the same yarn as the dress. All pieces designed by me.

I also have another very large collection, the bohemian collection, that I will have to post as I finish each outfit. This collection is also too large for a single entry and I keep coming up with new ideas to add to it...

Until next time!

Mindy Monday... Red Dress in the Garden

I have quite a few things on the go for Mindy. She will have quite a collection soon. Today though, I just want to share this photo of her relaxing in the garden with her red dress. I think she looks pretty.

Lots more to post in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

'Tiptoe Through the Tulips'...

I have had this outfit made up for over a year... all I had left to do was sew up the boots. Terrible isn't it? I have over 20 doll outfits that are mostly finished and only require something very small to complete them. The problem is I keep starting new projects before I finish them off! Once I get an idea I HAVE to start it. I can't help myself...

I know... I'm baaaaaaaad.

Anyway, here is a classic shift dress, with flower embroidery, and a matching jacket and boots.

Modelled by the lovely Ren.

Mindy Monday... New Party Dress

Today Mindy was given a new party dress and a pair of shiny silver ballet shoes to go with it. She is very happy with her new outfit!

Both the dress and the shoes were designed by me.

Have a great week!

Mindy Monday

I have decided to introduce a second part to this blog to make the posting more regular. Every Monday I will post about Mindy.

Mindy is my desk friend... she hangs out on my desk with me every day and always has an opinion on something. I'm really enjoying having a small doll like her because making things for her is really fast and she doesn't take up much room.

She is based on Fiona McDonald's Travel Doll pattern found here.

Introducing Mindy, she is 10.5" tall and has blue eyes and lots of black hair. Her body and hair are both made from Panda Magnum Soft 8 ply yarn. Her eyes are paper glued on felt and painted with clear gloss to seal them (I wasn't in the mood to design a sewn face...). Her mouth is glued felt and her nose and eyebrows are sewn.

Her dress is designed by me but the shoes are a pattern by Brackenz Kraft and are found here.

Lots more to post so stay tuned!

'That's What Friends are for'...

Here are some new casual clothes for Molly and Six to hang out together in. Molly has done her hair in braids for this outfit, she thinks it gives her a bit of 'street cred' hehe.

These outfits were put together around three pieces that I have had in my stash of single items for a long time. The green top and the black and grey jacket.

I really love the knitted patterns from AK Traditions and use modified versions of them all the time for my dolls. One day I am going to make my six month old daughter one of their felt dolls. She's not quite up to dolls yet so I have some time up my sleeve!

If you've never seen the AK Traditions knitted and felt dolls, go check out their website. Their three pattern books are well worth getting.

Here are some photos of these outfits.

I have sooooooo many outfits to share with you in the very near future... I just have to finish off bits and pieces here and there and they are done! I also have a huge bohemian collection that looks like it's going to have to be in about four parts... plus an evening wear collection that has far more outfits than I have dolls to wear them (I love knitting gowns). I just have to work out the shoes for that one.

Oh and did I mention two more dolls? Amazingly, I seem to be finding the time to do all this at the moment.

Until next time!
