'That's What Friends are for'...

Here are some new casual clothes for Molly and Six to hang out together in. Molly has done her hair in braids for this outfit, she thinks it gives her a bit of 'street cred' hehe.

These outfits were put together around three pieces that I have had in my stash of single items for a long time. The green top and the black and grey jacket.

I really love the knitted patterns from AK Traditions and use modified versions of them all the time for my dolls. One day I am going to make my six month old daughter one of their felt dolls. She's not quite up to dolls yet so I have some time up my sleeve!

If you've never seen the AK Traditions knitted and felt dolls, go check out their website. Their three pattern books are well worth getting.

Here are some photos of these outfits.

I have sooooooo many outfits to share with you in the very near future... I just have to finish off bits and pieces here and there and they are done! I also have a huge bohemian collection that looks like it's going to have to be in about four parts... plus an evening wear collection that has far more outfits than I have dolls to wear them (I love knitting gowns). I just have to work out the shoes for that one.

Oh and did I mention two more dolls? Amazingly, I seem to be finding the time to do all this at the moment.

Until next time!

  2. I love your dolls. I wish I could design so many clothes. I have two dolls to date, two in progress and on hold, and one I am currently on. When seeing your dolls, I was wondering, what yarn did you use for their bodies and clothes? Also I love the larger doll pattern for the Gothic Knits by Fiona and used it for one of my dolls, but I gave a much brighter look. Anyways, wonderful work.

    1. I always use Panda Magnum Soft 8ply for the bodies. For the clothes... anything and everything! I use a LOT of Lincraft Superwash 8ply, Cleckheaton Country 8ply, Patons Classic Totem 8ply, Lincraft Cosy Wool and lots of different types of Moda Vera brand yarn. Oh and I love love LOVE Sullivans Zambezee for doll clothes and wish they would make more colours.

I love going to yarn shops and hunting out different yarns to use for clothes and hair... it's what inspires me. I do find that the Panda Magnum Soft 8ply also makes the best (and most playable) hair. All of the black hair dolls have that (Stella, Jack Sparrow and my small doll Mindy).

      Hope this helps!

    2. Thanks, but I live in America and the shipping for those Austrailian lines is expensive. I use Patons Astra for my dolls. I have named two of them, Elizabeth "Betty" after my maternal grandmother and Marie after my paternal great aunt.

  3. How did you figure out how to do the shoes?
